TUNNEL WATERPROOFING (OUTSIDE)

1. SUBSTRATE

Typical: structural concrete

  • The substrate will be as clean, dry, smooth and free from contamination as possible.

2. PROTECTIVE LAYER (Mechanical securement only)

Typical: 300-400 g/m² geotextile

  • Install spot-bonded, with 100 mm overlap.

3. SINTOFOIL MEMBRANE

Typical: ST/Black/1.5mm

  • Any type of Sintofoil membrane (recommended thickness: 1.5 mm min.) is also acceptable.
  • Install with overlap and welded seam as per specifications.*
  • Secure to the substrate: (mechanical fixing)

4. PROTECTION LAYER

Typical : 3.0 mm protection course

  • Install loose, with butted joints covered by self-adhesive tape

 

5. BACKFILL
