Case Studies » Robin's Hill, Aldridge, Suffolk
Robin's Hill is an impressive residential new build constructed in Suffolk by Canham Timber Frame builders. This is a building with a difference, combining traditional straight lines and curved features. This unique property was designed by Richard Scales of Modece Architects based in Bury St Edmonds. Copper Green Rubberfuse TPO Membrane was the chosen colour to compliment this timber frame property. In total the building roof areas amount to approximately 300sq m.
Rubberfuse TPO was chosen specifically for this property above all other materials for its recyclable properties and excellent green credentials. Modece Architects favour Rubberfuse Single Ply TPO as the system uses less energy for application than other roofing materials available in the market place.
The main challenge met with Robins Hill was the complex gutter that was required for the curved building. The gutter system was made possible by forming a timber gutter with Rubberfuse TPO used as the gutter lining.
The ground floor roof areas have been enhanced with the addition of sedum. Rubberfuse TPO was used to weatherproof the roof area followed by the installation of sedum. Sedum/Green roofs and Rubberfuse have proven compatibility and success.
