BRIDLINGTON SPA, YORKSHIRE
When Bridlington Spa, Yorkshire coast’s premier heritage venue, undertook a major refurbishment, IPS Rubberfuse membrane systems were chosen for the building’s complex roof areas because of their high performance green technology and versatility (no fewer than eight types of roof construction had to be accommodated). The main contractor was Wates Group, the approved specialist roofing contractor was Castle Construction.
Providing long-term solutions to coastal weather conditions whilst harmonising with the Spa’s Edwardian design, IPS Rubberfuse met all of the East Riding Council’s technical and environmental criteria. Amongst the IPS products used was Superdeck composite panel system, manufactured in partnership with Corus Panels and Profiles. IPS Rubberfuse is completely recyclable, contains no plasticisers or chlorine and has no volatile content to affect the ozone layer.
