Insulation Adhesive

1. DESCRIPTION

Moisture setting polyurethane prepolymer based adhesive designed for bonding insulation boards to acceptable substrates, such as concrete, steeldeck, plywood and bituminous sheeting*.

* Insulation Adhesive is compatible with most substrates.A preliminary inspection is recommended prior to application.

2.CHARACTERISTICS

  • Solid content 85% approx.
  • Viscosity (20°C) 6.500 mPa.s.
  • Mass / Volume 1.120 kg/m³
  • Shelf life* 9 months

*When properly stored (under 25°C).

3. PACKAGING

  • 20 kg pail, 24 pails per pallet.
  • IMO DATA "mixture contains diphenylmethane-4, 4-diisocyanate"
    • ADR n° -
    • UN free
    • Flash point > 100°C

4.COVERAGE RATE

  • Field zone: 0.100 to 0.200 kg/m², depending on substrate type.
  • Perimeter zone: 0.150 to 0.300 kg/m², depending on substrate type.
    Note: for mineral wool, rate is double.

5. APPLICATION

  • Store in dry and cool place. Apply outside or in properly ventilated area.
  • Use when temperature is 5°C and above.
  • The substrate will be clean, dry (check moisture by running a finger on substrate) and free from contamination.
  • Cover adhesive within 20 minutes max.
  • Apply adhesive in ridges, 4 ea/m in field zone, 6 ea/m at perimeter on substrate.
    Leave 5 minutes max. open time to accelerate green strength.
    Lay the insulation board into adhesive before skin formation and press down.
    Press again after 30 minutes approx.
  • Depending on temperature/humidity, the adhesive will set within 1 to 5 hours.
    When working in temperature under 5°C, heat up the pail in hot water (50°C).
  • Refer to Rubberfuse specifications and details.

6. Safety

  • Avoid skin contact. Wash with soap and water.
  • In case of contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water. Call a doctor.
  • Do not drink, eat or smoke during application.
  • Do not inhale. Seek medical treatment if inhalation symptoms appear.
  • In case of fire, extinguish with water spray, foam or dry chemical.
