MEMBRANE PROTECTED ROOFING SYSTEM (INVERTED ROOF)
1. SUBSTRATE
Typical: structural concrete
-
The structure will be designed to support the ballast weight.
-
The substrate will be clean, dry, smooth and free from contamination.
-
It is recommended to inspect the substrate and evaluate the eventual need for levelling layer.
-
Although dead level is acceptable, a slope is recommended for roof drainage.
-
All vertical surfaces will be compatible with the Flashing/Substrate Adhesive *.
* Refer to technical data sheet
2.SINTOFOIL MEMBRANE
Typical: ST/Black/ 1.2 mm
-
Any other type of Sintofoil membrane is also acceptable.
-
Install loose, with overlap and welded seam as per specifications *.
-
The membrane will be mechanically secured at roof perimeter and around protrusions.
* Refer to "welded seam mtechnology" section
3. INSULATION
Typical: 25 kg/m² expanded polystyrene
-
Any UEAtc approved roofing board with the required thickness is also acceptable.
-
Install loose with staggered joints, avoiding gaps in excess of 6mm.
-
Taper the joints at roofdrains.
4.FILTER LAYER
Typical: 200 g/m² geotextile
-
Install loose, with 100 mm overlap.
-
Polyethylene 200µ is to be used under pavers on pads.
5.BALLAST
Typical: smooth round river washed gravel, ø 12-35 mm, 60kg/m² min.
-
The ballast's weight will be sufficient to resist the wind uplift pressure.
-
Do not stockpile the ballast.
Notes:
Refer to the local code requirements when applicable.
Reroofing projects will be subject to a specific study, including preliminary inspection.
