ADHERED ROOFING SYSTEM
1. SUBSTRATE
Typical: steel deck
-
The substrate will provide for the required insulation fasteners' minimum pull-out resistance^:
steeldeck: 1.700 N
plywood: 2.000 N
concrete: 2.500 N -
Although dead level is acceptable, a slope is recommended for roof drainage.
-
All vertical surfaces will be compatible with the Flashing/Substrate Adhesive.*
* Refer to technical data sheet
^ When insulation is mechanically secured. The other option is to use Insulation Adhesive
2.VAPOUR CONTROL LAYER
Typical: 200µ polyethylene film
-
The material type will be specified if/as required by the dew point calculation.
-
Install PE loose-laid with 100mm overlap and taped seam, other types as specified by manufacturer.
3. INSULATION
Typical: 30kg/m³ bitumen faced polyurethane
-
Class B, Class C or Class D UEAtc approved roofing boards with the required thickness and compatible with FB-SF Adhesive are also acceptable.
-
The boards will be mechanically secured as per the insulation manufacturer's recommendations.
-
The boards can also be adhered (on a compatible substrate) using Insulation Adhesive.*
-
Taper the joints at roofdrains.
* Refer to technical data sheet
4.SINTOFOIL MEMBRANE
Typical: FB/Grey/1.2 mm
-
Install with overlap and welded seam as per specifications.^
-
Adhere to the insulation using FB-SF Adhesive* with the coverage rate as per the wind uplift pattern.
-
The membrane will be mechanically secured at roof perimeter and around protrusions.
* Refer to "welded seam technology" section
5.TRAFFIC
Typical: smooth round river washed gravel, ø 12-35 mm, 60kg/m² min.
-
The installed membrane will be protected from following other trades' work.
-
Walkways (if required): SLM walkways or a 1.5 mm Sintofoil roll 1.05 m wide, welded to the membrane.
Notes:
The architect is responsible for the wind study and the resulting fastening pattern.
Refer to the local code requirements when applicable. Reroofing projects will be subject to a specific study, including preliminary inspection and pull-out testings.
