GARDEN ROOF
1. SUBSTRATE
Typical: structural concrete

The structure will be designed to support the earth/vegetation layer.

The substrate will be clean, dry, smooth and free from contamination.
-
Although dead level is acceptable, a slope is recommended for roof drainage.

All vertical surfaces will be compatible with the Flashing/Substrate Adhesive *.

2.VAPOUR CONTROL LAYER
Typical: 200µ polyethylene film

The material type will be specified if/as required by the dew point calculation.

Install PE loose-laid with 100mm overlap and taped seam, other types as specified by manufacturer.
3. INSULATION
Typical: 25kg/m³ expanded polyurethane

Any UEAtc approved roofing board with the required thickness is also acceptable.

Install loose with staggered joints, avoiding gaps in excess of 6 mm.

Taper the joints at roofdrains.

Would insulation not be used, a protection layer (geotextile 300 g/m² minimum) will be installed.
4.SINTOFOIL MEMBRANE
Typical: ST/Black/1.5 mm

Any type of Sintofoil membrane (recommended minimum thickness: 1.2 mm) is also acceptable.

Install loose, with overlap and welded seam as per specifications.*

5.PROTECTION LAYER
Typical: 200 g/m² min. geotextile

Install loose, with min. 100 mm overlap.

It is recommended to evaluate the eventual need for heavier protection, depending on subsequent layers.
6. DRAINAGE LAYER
Typical: expanded clay

The thickness will be specified according to the garden type.
7. FILTER LAYER
Typical: 150g/m² geotextile

Install loose, with min. 100 mm overlap.
8. VEGETATION LAYER

Refer to the local code requirements when applicable.
Reroofing projects will be subject to a specific study, including preliminary inspection.
