FIXING INFORMATION

The panel is fixed to the supports at its ends using one fixing per trough of deck profile. At intermediate supports, the panel is fixed using one fixing in the side lap trough.Where there is a high wind suction load the panel must be fixed in every trough at intermediate supports (check the load table or contact Rubberfuse Technical Department for details).

Side laps must be stitched at one metre centres. Using this fixing pattern all fixings occur at selvedge of the Rubberfuse TPO membrane so there is no requirement to penetrate the membrane with fixings.

Primary fixings to panel supports
5.5mm dia. self drilling screw suitable for support material as specified by fixings supplier.

Secondary fixings Panel to panel
5.5mm dia. self drilling stitcher screws or 4.8mm dia. aluminium blind rivet or 4.8mm dia. sealed rivet with sealing washer.

Flashing to panel
4.8mm dia. self drilling screw with low profile head, suitable for 0.63mm thick steel.

High Humidity
In high humidity areas, use sealing washers on all fixings and seal side laps, end laps and penetrations with sealant.

Installation of Superdeck
The deck should be securely fixed according to the recommendations made above and comply with part L2 of the Building Regulations, using normal steel roof decking installation techniques. The Rubberfuse TPO membrane joins are then made in accordance with standard single ply membrane practice, as are edge, penetration and gutter details.

Coring Tool
A specialised coring tool is used to remove a neat “core” of insulation to allow the correct location of the fixing. A pre-made insulation dowel is inserted after fixing.
